“The highest service
that men may attain to on earth is to preach the word of God” observes John
Wychiffe. Irinjalakuda Diocese, since its inception, has been specially blessed
to have a man who attained “the highest service”, not only as a preacher, but
also as a professor and spiritual leader, as its first Bishop. A great
visionary and an inspiring teacher like Christ Himself, Mar Pazhayattil did
everything he could, relying on the tremendous power of prayer, to transform
the Eparchy of Irinjlakuda into a lover of faith and spirituality, radiating
rays of divine grace. The number of educational institutions, hospitals, homes
for aged and the destitute, Catholic organizations, spiritual movements and
other charitable institutions founded by His Excellency, proclaim his all-
embracing compassion to people around him. He wept with the weeping multitudes
and a legacy of selfless love and seamless compassion, for us to feel proud of
and to follow in our humble ways. Prayerful tribute beloved father as we
remember you on the second year of your demise.
